Margaritaville Mao and the Ill-fated Comcast Revolution
There aren’t many things that unite us all. Many of the symbols or ideals such as bald eagles or war only work for a portion of the population and fall flat for others. Even seemingly universal principles such as equal rights are opposed by some fools, many of whom have bald eagle bumper stickers. However, one thing that I have noticed that unites a large majority of the population is a hatred of large cable companies, particularly Comcast.
While I am usually the first one to buy a ticket on the corporate hatred bandwagon, I have lived in a household with Comcast service for quite awhile and have been pretty pleased. Granted, their prices can be insane, but the service has always been good enough and none of the competitors ever seem to offer better quality service. Personally, I will gladly pay more money than Dish Network charges to avoid missing a Pistons playoff game and Michigan State tournament game due to wind and rain (which did happen). We are a world caught in a pickle between a behemoth who can charge what they want and competitors who refuse to offer comparable service at a better price.
Our only viable option is full scale guerrilla war.
